Located on 344 Roast Meat Hill Road in Killingworth, the Platt Nature Center was formerly an old barn belonging to Marion Platt, who donated the building and nine acres of land to the Trust in 1974. A marked trail makes a circuit around the property, and is always open to the public. The Center's Herbarium was established by Dr. Donald Swan in 1972.

Jan Mark and Betsy Himmelman will be returning again this summer. They will, as always, present a fun and fascinating program. Because the children will be in woods and fields, class size must be limited for safety reasons. Sign up early to avoid disappointment.
Janet Mark is a former kindergarten teacher and advisor to her school's ecology club, frequently recognized for its many school, community, and global outreach projects. Jan returns to PNC for a fourteenth summer. (Editor's note: Jan's sing-alongs alone make the experience worth it!)
Betsy Himmelman is an art teacher in the H-K School District. She is a long-time naturalist and joins the PNC staff for her thirteenth summer program.
